NOTICE: The ARES® operation in Washington County has been restructured. The official ARES organization is now Johnson City (JC)-Washington County ARES.
At this time all reference to the former Washington County ARES Team, contact information, website and email clients should be disregarded by members and potential members.
The restructuring includes new personnel assignments and any materials, correspondence, emails issued by the previous organization are invalid. If any members were issued ARES® Identification Cards, please contact the Acting EC or one of the two AEC’s listed below.

Members who wish to participate in ARES and Emergency Communications in Washington County, TN must be ARES members. Operators may register for ARES online at TN ARES Online Registration
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) now requires all volunteers, including amateur radio operators, to have completed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) IS-100.b, IS-200.b, IS-700.a and IS-800.b course material. For non-governmental employees and others without access to classroom instruction, these courses are available as on-line independent-study courses that are free of charge at the links above.
Continuing education in emergency operations will be conducted throughout the year. These programs will be sponsored by JCARA along with State and Local Emergency Management.
