Cliff Smither, N4ZEU, called the meeting to order at 7 p.m., February 19, 2008.  The meeting was held at the Courtyard Classroom of Northside Hospital in Johnson City.  Following the Pledge of Allegiance, we went around the room and everyone introduced themselves to the group.  Cliff asked that if anyone has a spare U. S. flag they could bring it to the club meeting.

JCARA Trailer

We discussed moving the Club trailer into town and parking it at the EMS building.  Wendell Messimer, K4ZHK, volunteered to contact the Appalachian Fairgrounds officials to make arrangements to obtain and possibly clean the trailer.

Mike Wechsler, N4OFA, reported that the Johnson City/Washington Emergency Management Agency has a generator and the air conditioner from our old Blue Goose ready for someone to pick up. We discussed how these could be used with the trailer.

ARES - Washington County

Tom Cook, KB4HZA, acting Emergency Coordinator Washington County, passed out ARES call-up lists and asked that any errors be reported to him.  He and Mike are planning to exercise the call-up list soon.  We discuss possible ARES roles in a local emergency and Tom distributed survey forms to the ARES members present.
